I am a person-centred counsellor offering a safe place for women and men to talk through any difficulties they may have.
I am a BACP Registered Counsellor holding a Diploma in Counselling, accredited by the BACP and awarded by the University of Brighton. Over the years I have attended many workshops that have informed my practice and consequently keep my knowledge current.
My approach is based on the work of Carl Rogers who believed that all individuals have within them the resources for growth and change. I value the whole person when counselling and I aim to build a trusting, genuine relationship based on unconditional acceptance.
My hope is that within this therapeutic relationship a person is able to gain insight into their problems and difficulties and make changes they want for themselves.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by the guidelines set out in the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
In accordance with ethical practice I hold full professional liability insurance and I receive regular counselling supervision.
